About Us
North Simcoe Community Futures Development Corporation (NSCFDC) is supported by the Government of Canada and is governed by a local volunteer Board of Directors. It is dedicated to:
- helping small and medium businesses access services and capital, and
- enhancing the community’s economic and employment growth through community-based planning and economic development initiatives.
About the North Simcoe Region
Demographics
The population in North Simcoe represents a tri-cultural heritage comprised of English, French and Native communities. The total population base is approximately 64,000 people.
Geography
The North Simcoe Community is situated at the gateway to southern Georgian Bay's picturesque 30,000 islands. The region is about 90 miles north of Toronto with excellent proximity to major transportation routes (Highways 400, 93 and 12). The Huronia Airport serves our area. The 3,998 foot runway can accommodate aircraft up to a Dash 8.
